I was having trouble installing and using the latest version of Cherokee server on Debian (1.0.8 upgrading to 1.2.1) . Thinking it might be a problem with the way Debian handles packages, with long periods of time between official package updates, I thought I'd try another OS with a pre-built distribution of Cherokee Server. Well it turns out to be a problem with Cherokee itself.
Anyway, simply put, compared to the usual Debian/similar method of using apt-get install package in Fedora/Red Hat you use the command yum install package. That is it.
